Youth Volunteers Give Food and Socks at HOC

April 22, 2017

Today is a beautiful day in Spokane, WA, it’s nearly 70 degrees and the sun is shining! We are excited to announce our first Youth Volunteer activity is occurring right now down at the Spokane House of Charity.

Friends of Rayce and Tiffany asked if their children would be able to participate in a SoLoved activity as part of a school assignment about Community Service from St. Aloysius Gonzage Catholic School. We decided a great way to serve and promote learning would be to host a Burrito Build. Our 5 youth volunteers made a whopping 107 burritos with the help of student parents Aleisha and Steve, SoLoved Wenatchee volunteer Jaime, and SoLoved Incorporator Rayce.

Yesterday the kids worked hard in the kitchen to prepare a nice warm meal, see blog from April 21st, 2017.

Today the team is hitting the street armed with 100+ burritos, a couple cases of water and about 60 pairs of brand new socks! Full bellies and happy feet are perfect compliment to this sunny day!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR YOUTH VOLUNTEERS FROM ST. AL’S!!
